Reservation agreements signed with Siemens Energy cover four additional turbines, supporting local and regional energy demand
KUALA LUMPUR, Tuesday, 15 September 2026 — YTL Power International Berhad (“YTL Power”), Ganda Power (“Ganda”) and Siemens Energy signed reservation agreements on 14 September 2026 for four additional SGT-9000HL gas turbine units. The reservations add to the three units previously secured by Ganda and YTL Power, bringing the total to seven, intended to support power generation projects in Malaysia and the wider region with a combined capacity of over 5,250 MW.
At the signing, Ganda Power was represented by Yang Dimuliakan (YDM) Engku Maharaja Lela Setia Paduka Dato’ Syed Budriz Putra Jamalullail, Director of Ganda Power, YTL Power by Dato’ Seri Yeoh Seok Hong, Managing Director of YTL Power International Berhad, and Siemens Energy by Karim Amin, Member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy AG and Executive Vice President, Gas Services.
The agreement advances YTL Power’s commitment to meet growing energy needs in Malaysia and regionally, as industrial expansion, electrification and the development of data centres and artificial intelligence (“AI”) drive demand for reliable electricity. They also extend a longstanding relationship combining YTL’s infrastructure development and operating experience with Siemens Energy’s generation technology.

The agreements complement YTL Power’s investments in digital infrastructure, spanning data centres, NVIDIA-powered accelerated computing through YTL AI Cloud, and AI models and applications developed by YTL AI Labs, including Malaysian large language model, ILMU. Together, these investments support the infrastructure needed to meet the growing demand for energy and digital services.
Siemens Energy’s SGT-9000HL gas turbine family is designed to deliver high efficiency and operational flexibility and reliability, supporting dependable electricity supply as power systems integrate more renewable energy.
